Science hurts my brain

Its 1 am and I just spent the past 3.5 hours reading science. :-( I hate reading from textbooks, but science and history are my two least favorite subjects to read about. I think history is because its hard for me to remember all the dates and different wars and all that so I start feeling bogged down and I just give up. But with science its because I feel like I'm reading a foreign language (one that I've never learned). Seriously. For example, (and this is just one of my many confusions) I don't understand P waves and S waves and L waves and why P waves can pass through solids and liquids but S waves cannot pass through liquids. What are they anyway? And I don't even have a clue what L waves are. I had never even heard of them before tonight. Its actually short for Love waves. Whats that??!? And this is just the beginning of my confusion. I think I'm going to have permanent wrinkles on my forehead when this semester is over because I am really confused right now and I have only finished the first assigned reading. :-( I hope this gets easier. The funny thing about this class is its supposed to be Capstone Science. Basically its supposed to pull together all that we've learned in all of our other science classes and have it all make sense together. What if I'm still confused about the basics of each class I took? What then? Gosh ... I think I'm in trouble ...

hey christy. go visit ccw20s.blogspot.com and see if you can help. :)

Classes were always difficult for me at first. You should take advantage of any additional tutoring that may be available. Study groups were also a big help. Hang in there, you'll look back at this some day and laugh at how easy it will all seem.
