Raegan had her first play date today with her friend, Armani. Armani is in Raegan's school and she also lives in the same apartment complex as us. As soon as Raegan found that out, she's been begging me to have Armani over to play with her. I told her she could come over this week, so in preparation for that, Raegan set aside half of her littlest pet shop toys two days ago. She wouldn't play with "Armani's" toys cause she didn't want to get them mixed up. The row on the left were Armani's and the ones on the right were Raegan's. It was funny cause when Armani got here today, Raegan took her straight over to the pet shop toys and Armani didn't even want to play with them. She wanted to explore in Raegan's room. Raegan wasn't prepared for that. I think she had this idea in her head of exactly how this play date was going to go, and it wasn't going as she had planned. They butted head's at first cause they each wanted to do different things, but after a while they started to figure each other out and they began to get along better. They played dress up and traded dresses. Raegan's dress is the ballet outfit that Armani is wearing and the dress that Raegan is wearing is Armani's. Here are pictures of them dancing around together.





Then they decided they wanted to take a "traditional" picture together, so I attempted this one but Armani accidently stepped on Raegan's toe while I was taking it (notice Raegan is barefoot and Armani is wearing plastic dress-up heals - ouch).

Needless to say, Raegan was upset. She ran off to cry by herself, but when I tried to take a picture of her crying, Armani jumped in front of the camera (hence the out-of-focusness of this pic plus Raegan pouting in the background).

I did end up getting one of Raegan crying, but luckily she was fine after a kiss on the toe by mom (how does this magical kiss work anyway? It's a mystery to me).

Then Raegan was ready for another shot at the posed picture. But this time Armani wasn't ready ... I think she was trying to make sure she didn't step on Raegan's toe again. So this is what I got. Oh, well. Its hard to get a good one of two four-year-olds anyway.

I think, overall, they had a lot of fun together. We ordered Pizza and they watched or I should say attempted to watch (they got distracted easily) a couple of movies. All in all, it was a good first Play Date!!!
